Getting older should not mean making your world smaller. The right personal training can help you keep getting up from the floor, carrying your bags, traveling comfortably, playing with grandchildren and saying yes to the activities that make life feel like yours.

At Fit-Rx, personal training is built for adults in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond. You are not expected to know your way around a gym or keep pace with anyone else. You work one-on-one with a coach in a private Fort Collins studio, following a plan shaped around your starting point, your health history and what you want your body to do for you.

Is this the right fit?

When more support makes sense

You may be looking for personal training because the things that used to feel automatic now take more thought. Maybe stairs make you pause. Maybe getting down to the floor with a grandchild comes with a plan for getting back up. Maybe a trip, a golf game or a walk around the neighborhood leaves you less confident than it once did. Those changes can be frustrating, but they are also useful information. They point to physical abilities that can be trained with the right level of support.

One-on-one coaching can also be a good choice when a crowded gym feels uncomfortable or you are unsure what is appropriate after a health change. You do not need to sort through machines, copy a workout from someone nearby or wonder whether you are doing too much. Each session has a coach there to help you practice the movements that matter and adjust the plan as your body responds.

Fit-Rx is not a boot camp and it is not about exhausting yourself to prove a point. Progress should feel earned, understandable and connected to the life you want to keep living. Some days the right work may be a steadier step, a stronger rise from a chair or a more comfortable range of motion. Those changes add up because they make everyday choices feel more open.

Whether your goal is returning to an activity you miss or protecting the active life you already have, training starts with a conversation. We look at where you are now, what matters most and what would make movement feel more dependable. From there, you have a practical way to build forward.

Training with a purpose

Build capacity for everyday life

Fitness for adults 50+ is about more than checking off an exercise habit. It is about building the physical capacity to live with fewer limits. That means working on the pieces of movement that matter outside the studio: standing up, stepping over uneven ground, climbing stairs, moving quickly enough to catch your balance and having the stamina to enjoy a full day.

Every Fit-Rx program brings together strength, controlled power, mobility and balance. Strength helps you lift, rise and carry. Power helps you use that strength quickly when life catches you off guard. Mobility helps you move with more freedom. Balance helps you stay organized as you turn, reach, walk and change direction. Training them together makes the work practical.

StrengthSupport for getting up, carrying, climbing and staying active.
PowerControlled speed for reacting when a moment does not go as planned.
BalanceSteadier movement for walking, turning, reaching and changing direction.
MobilityMore comfortable movement for the activities you want to protect.

A plan that fits you

Personal attention, without the guesswork

Generic workouts are a poor fit when your goals, joints, confidence and experience are your own. At Fit-Rx, sessions are guided from start to finish. Your coach can adjust the movement, resistance, range of motion and speed so the challenge is useful without feeling reckless.

That personal attention matters whether you are returning after years away from exercise, working around arthritis or joint discomfort, rebuilding after a setback, or already active and determined to stay that way. The program should meet you where you are today and keep adapting as you get stronger.

Specialized equipment makes that easier. Fit-Rx uses controlled, low-impact technology that can be adjusted precisely, helping you train effectively without the jolt or intimidation that can come with a conventional weight room.

Why Fit-Rx

Designed around the years ahead

Most gyms are designed around crowds, generic workouts and the assumption that you already know what to do. Fit-Rx is designed around the realities and possibilities of aging well. The studio is private. The coaching is personal. The goal is not to chase someone else’s idea of fitness. It is to make your own life more available.

For some people, that means feeling comfortable on a hike or a trip. For others, it means staying confident after surgery, keeping up with grandchildren, feeling less cautious on stairs or continuing to live independently. The target is personal, but the foundation is the same: build a stronger, more capable body that can respond to real life.

Frequently asked questions

Personal training for adults 50+

Am I too old to start personal training?

No. Fit-Rx works with adults in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond. Your plan starts with your current ability, your goals and the movements you want to keep doing.

What if I have not exercised in years?

That is a common starting point. You do not need to become fit before your first visit. We begin where you are and progress at a pace that feels manageable.

Can personal training help after a joint replacement or health change?

When you are appropriate for exercise, a guided program can help rebuild strength, mobility and confidence. Fit-Rx personal training does not replace physical therapy or medical rehabilitation, and your plan can account for medical guidance when needed.

Do I have to work out in a crowded gym?

No. Fit-Rx is a private studio with one-on-one guidance. You will have coaching and a program built around you, without the noise, guessing or pressure of a big-box gym.

Feel stronger for what comes next.
